Because if you want PDK and PCCB, it's a better deal. The S is a bargain for people who like to load up the options.

Although the standard Turbo has after market exhausts in this picture, the difference is obvious. Notice how the bottom of the bumper is flat on the 997.1, and it makes room for the exhausts on the 997.2.

They add up more than a lot.

The Turbo with all of the standard Turbo S options adds up to 1bout 153k. The Turbo S is only 152k. Not a big difference, but you also get an "s" badge, better performance, and 30 more horsepowers.
