HELP: How do I access the front luggage compartment with a dead battery

I've been struggling with this for a while and any help would be GREATLY appreciated. My '02 996TT has been sitting for around a month now and I'm pretty sure the battery's done.

First off, my Porsche trickle charger is locked in the luggage compartment so I'm S.O.L. there. I have tried the method of hooking up a battery and twelve volt charger to the fuse box and door jam with no luck. How else would I get this thing open to access the battery?

Note: I even tried shouting F bombs and nothing.

Thanks, John

In an effort to generate interest, boom!!

Trickle charger to the lighter socket might give you some help.

Can you get to your manual? There's a few pages in there....and your PM might have more info, so check it rather than me post it to the world here.

I assume you have the button and not the lever style?

When mine died I hooked the charger to the engine bay. As seen within the link just posted. Never did anything with the fuse box though.

Pop out the tow hood cover (round cap) on the front bumper cover, fish around for the trunk release wire... if you can't find it there; take the lower splash shield off (plastic under the front bumper cover) shine a flashlight up, you will see a silver cable; pull. Open

ohhh, just remembered an easier way; take out the right side marker lamp, you should be able to see the release cable hiding in there somewhere, grab it with anything and pull. A hanger will work good; grab the loop end and pull like a mo-fo. Again, its just a bare silvery looking wire/cable thingy

Thanks guys, I got it to work by hooking up the fuse box pull to my M3 battery. I guess the jet ski battery I was using wasn't strong enough.

Rep coming to those I couldn't get to before being 'rep'd out' for the day.
