I can't tell you the thousands upon thousands of $$$$$ the V1 has saved me. traveling anywhere on the interstates at 55pmh is going nowhere fast and it's dangerous because one will start to fall asleep. i set the cruise to 85-95 mph in my twin turbo 300zx and hit the brakes when the V1 goes off.
In the country being key. I don't know of any but the most podunk towns that still use always on radar. Around here, the the staties use POP or instant on radar. Some of the newer detectors are too fast for the V1 to detect at range (making the V1 ineffective against an officer approaching from behind that is selectively targeting cars or using POP/instant on on a sparsely populated highway).

I drove with a detector for a while, but it is a false sense of security. Constant visual awareness is much better, and has kept me out of trouble without the nuisance of a detector. I am strongly considering getting a laser jammer, such as a blinder. As most of the speedtraps that are "hidden" are using laser, and a V1/STI/9500/etc won't do anything to help you out against laser.

If I were to get another detector, it would have to be GPS enabled, and that would count the V1 out of the running. The V1 is so obnoxious to drive around with, it detects as many falses as a $50 cobra, some seem to prefer that but it's not for me.

Anyway, V1's for me. They're all I use.
YUP had my V1 shipped to my door in Calgary. Despite its bulky size it has be great for me....learned the hard way that it works the best when its plugged in...3 points and $150 fine

V1 is a great detector. I have used it traveling from the east coast to the Midwest and it is a life saver. The only state I found that used laser in that spam was Ohio but I still picked it up before being caught.
