Actually the defuser is a totally separate system, it is a laser defuser that intergrates into the radar detection system. I think your a little mislead.

I have had a hardwired V1 in my cars for almost 10 years now and they have always served me well! However my wife needed something that she could just leave on, never look at, not drive her nuts and keep her well protected. I decided to have a 9500ci installed and it really is an amazing device! It is every bit as sensitive as my V1, with gps it learns false triggers and blocks them, can be set not to trigger below a certain speed, the voice prompts alerts her without ever having to look at the display and the big plus is it triggers via gps for red light and speed cameras. She does a tremendous amount of driving in NY City and not that she runs red lights, but if you get jammed up in an intersection with a camera you end up getting a ticket in the mail. It's a great feature. The laser shifters offer and extra layer of protection too. The only adjustment that is tough to make for a V1 user is not having the arrows... All in all it is a great device!!!

poster calling himself "porsche91178" posts on many boards, under many names, claiming ownership of cars specific to each board, flogging k40 as a happy owner. Has used the same exact text on several boards, and the same attached videos. Either k40 is too cheap to pay these board's vendor prices, or this might just be one big old amazing coincidence.

There is a comparative test of radars at guysoflidar.com

V1 comes out on top. Passport 9500ci.

Having owned both, I would say passport 9500ci is better in/near cities, v1 better in the country.

K40 RL360 seems good radar, but their laser jammers are not good.

This is the god honest truth.

in the country nothing beats the V1 because it detects the staties going 90mph cruising up behind you. the escort can't do that.

I can't tell you the thousands upon thousands of $$$$$ the V1 has saved me. traveling anywhere on the interstates at 55pmh is going nowhere fast and it's dangerous because one will start to fall asleep. i set the cruise to 85-95 mph in my twin turbo 300zx and hit the brakes when the V1 goes off.

however when Valentine looses the patent on its arrows, escort will become king.

guys regardless of what that Porsche guy posted, if it is the truth does it really matter. The K40 RL360 is a dame good radar, is it the best???? Who knows there are a couple radars that are really good but it is up to us as to what we want to drive with.

I've been pinched by laser with everything from a Passport to a Belltronics to a V1.

Without the diffuser/shifter mechanism, radar detectors are worthless against laser.

Agree with this.. the V1 is a great product and has a loyal following but if laser is prevalent where you drive get a laser jammer as well. My personal preference is the Escort 9500ci mostly due to integrated gps that filters out all of the false alerts.

Are you able to integrate both a V1 and 9500ci display into a mirror? I run a 9500ci, and on my next car (due in October) I want to add a muted V1 to get the arrows.

Yes both displays can be integrated into most mirrors, we also have a custom Laser Interceptor display available (not currently posted on our website).
