Ferrari Driven by 'Gotham Dream Cars' Employee Strikes and Kills Motorcyclist

RIP
EAST RUTHERFORD — The two men who were driving Ferraris involved in a crash Sunday morning that killed a Kinnelon motorcyclist near MetLife Stadium were charged tonight in his death, authorities said.

Joseph Ferretti, 28, of Dumont, and Joseph Meyer, 19, of Oveido, Fla. were arrested without incident around 9 p.m. and charged with death by auto in the wreck that killed Stephen Lenge, 56, Sgt. Brian Polite, a State Police spokesman, said.

Both men are being held at the Bergen County jail in Hackensack in lieu of $50,000 with no 10 percent option, according to Polite, who said Ferretti and Meyer will also face several traffic violations.

The two men were driving Ferraris along Berry’s Creek Road North in East Rutherford when Meyer lost control of his vehicle and struck two curbs, Trooper Christopher Kay, another State Police spokesman, said Sunday. Ferretti lost control of his car seconds later and spun into the northbound side of the roadway, striking a Triumph motorcycle operated by Lenge, Kay said today.

Investigators have not said how fast the men were traveling, but Polite confirmed the Ferraris were moving at a "high rate of speed."

The two men were employees of Gotham Dream Cars of Englewood, which runs a local event called the Dream Car Sprint where people pay $100 to drive high-end sports cars around a track near MetLife Stadium. Ferretti and Meyer were returning from fueling up the cars when the wreck happened, State Police said Sunday.

Lenge was a stagehand who was headed to work building stages for the upcoming Electric Daisy Carnival, an electronic music festival also scheduled to be held at MetLife Stadium.

"At this point, we do not have any comment because it is an ongoing investigation," Kevin Fisher, a spokesman for Gotham Dream Cars, said tonight.

Have to assume one of the drivers is related to Rob Feretti, owner of GDC and of SuperSpeeders fame. Street racing (again, assuming) FTL. RIP.

No way, the 19 year old was the first one to lose control of his car? That's just plain weird.

My condolences for the motorcyclist and his family.

Another accident with a Ferrari involved... or should I say another accident of a Ferrari resulting in death published. I'm sure many accidents like this happen everyday but we only heard of those involving ferraris and lambos.

RIP to the motorcyclist.

I hope both the company and this employees get a proper punishment.

+1 jeez...along with the recent news of the 599 GTO owner crashing and killing innocent people...the current public perception of Ferrari drivers has validated what naysayers have believed
