F430 Scuderia or 458 Italia?

I did not find the Scud to be that rough whatsoever. Is it firm? Yes. No wheel time in a 458 to compare it, but I'm not wild about electronic driving aids which I think the Scud has plenty of.
The buys are in the Scud market. They're overpriced at 200k - that's way above wholesale. Smart buyers are paying 170-185k.

Dealers should work for free?
Show me a decent Scud that sold at 170
Gold rimmed. Red. 15000 miles?
The good cars are 200k
More importantly well over 100k less than a 458. That goes faster in a straightline and 99.9999999999999% of the drivers can't get the difference in performance out if them
Whatchu been drinking tonight stroked?

As a matter of fact Ferrari of Seattle unloaded one I am sure for 182.5k (asking) or less... It was on their site for quite some time. 8k mi as I recall
There was a nice Grigio Silverstone no stripe car that went near 185k if I am not mistaken
Rosso no stripe, nice interior, and yes that one had gold rims
There have been a few Nero and Rosso cars that have sold in the 180k range.
Sure if you're in the 170k range it's going to be a 9k+ mile car but don't you buy them to drive them? Personally a garage queen would make me slightly uncomfortable.
Nothing wrong with agreeing to disagree - I think the buys are out there you do not

I agree 100% most people can't get the performance out of that or any number of other performance cars, and for $100k more the 458 is NOT worth it.

170 is the dreamers' market, and for a modestly loaded out-of-warranty high mileage non-carbon 08 scud at best.
Dreamers always like to benchmark against unrealistic numbers that 9.9 out of 10 times is the extreme exception instead of the rule...I guess it gives them an inkling of hope.
I'm all for a great deal, but let's be realistic.

Above wholesale is not wrong. 40k above wholesale is not something I would encourage however

The truth is in sales. Like Alwin below states. REAL Sales make the market not assumed. No one is stepping up with anything but 08 non CF cars in the range you discuss.
The 09's had standard CF diffusors etc and this alone was 8k option. The steering wheel another option most don't notice in these cars that A LOT of 08's did not have. Shift lights etc.
These cars are cheaper but watching actual guys posting purchase prices of cars most are above 190k.
It's a good car for that number. Worrying about 10k on a car in this range makes little sense in my book.

Like our emails discussed f chat has beat this subject to death. Typical "tire kickers" trying to talk the cars down and sellers trying to talk the cars up.

There are a LOT of cars that have been sitting. Yes I've read the threads on Fchat and I understand them it doesn't mean that's how the entire system works nor does it mean that's how everyone does business
Then again I worked for a guy who was in business to sell cars - not hang on to them. As he told me, "never get high on your own stash". Not my money though so I don't feel bad for these guys who are sitting on cars
I will absolutely agree with you for 190k it's a SICK car. No question about that. In my book the best for that price. And it's absolutely ridiculous to worry about 10k on a car in that price range and it never ceased to amaze me how many people do worry. However, if someone pays asking for a car that's been sitting for 10mos, I'm not going to apologize for thinking that's not the most intelligent buy... At the end of the day it is a vehicle not an investment, regardless of the badge it wears

There are also very few 09s left that still have warranty coverage until 2013.

Both look like high 180s not 170s to me. And the first link is an FDE car I believe, hence the significant discount. Non-story 09s would never go for that price, and again to reiterate, there are a few extreme exceptions to the rule.

So, I would say your statement that "9.9 times out of 10 it's the exception not the rule" is inaccurate given the listings I posted.

And like h20skier said, I'm not going to let plus/minus 10k get in the way of getting one w/ the right options and no stories.
Your 170-185 is still short for almost all of the cars you've listed, if you're really counting...so you tell me. No race stripe is a deal breaker for many btw, so another soft spot for a discount.
Personally, a scud/stradale without stripe is almost like a ferrari without its shields.
