My local Porsche dealer is the same way. I've bought a ton of Porsches & Audis from them, referred tons of people, etc., yet they act like I'm bothering them when I come in. Of course, when half the clientele buys 2-3 new Porsches a year, I must be a nobody. Next thing you know, my Porsche won't even get a parking spot up front... 
Seriously, the only decent dealerships around here are the Aston Martin, Infiniti, and new Audi dealerships. The newest Audi place is amazing - I even met Penske at the grand opening.

I thought that was an excuse? Didn't he actually share a story about how he walked into a Ferrari dealership in his usual jean attire and no one gave him the time of day. When he asked for some help didn't they make a rude remark doubting he is capable of purchasing a Ferrari? If not I'm going to be wondering how the hell I came up with this.

I have heard the same story as GLN but I cannot remember where exactly. I also remember hearing of Jay's Garage though that he thinks paying above MSRP unless it's for a cause, Charity proceed's and whatnot, is absurd. That would go with the whole 360 430 raping of late.

Maybe they don't want to sell at MSRP, either at a premium, or boost the customer margin through forcing you to buy used first.

The quick answer is "yes", if you ae not already a past customer, you most likely cannot walk into a Ferrari dealership and buy a 458 at MSRP, or order one for delivery in the next 12 months at MSRP. This has been going on since the 360 Modena. Wait until towards the end of the model cycle, and maybe you would be able to, provided the economy still sucks at that time. V12's are different. You can probably get better timing and flexibility with those.
