What a dilemma.
Gold key + Koenigsegg for my son's 22nd, or saving thousands of people?
Yes, really its just heart aching seeing people like that lose what they have saved for years and years of hard work and now they have nothing after the flood. No food, clean water, shelter, clothing. We are really thankful for what we've got. It is True some people dont have a large supercar collection, private jet and other wants but basically having a roof over your head, 3 meals a day and good health your very privileged to have the basic amenities.

Donating is so easy these days, you can do it manually via text message. all of the Service providers here offer this SMS which is worth $4 going towards Pakistan Floods and that is what is being done here in Kuwait.

"driving e36 318i's and other 5k dollar cars"? you sound like a complete douche, you look down on them because of the value you place on their cars and are surprised when they look down on you for having done nothing to earn yours.

+1
I'm sorry but I must concede that you do sort of come across that way. I mean, when people say thIngs, as you do in your signature, like "all options except..." Its like you want people to know you have something they don't, and that by default should make you cool. To me that just proves that you probably bought your car used, because anyone who's specced out a factory order for a new BMW would know that it's impossible to have "every option" Thats because selecting some features means you can't have others, particularly when you're ordering a "BMW Individual" vehicle.
But please correct me if I'm wrong about you, that's just my impression.

Anyways, back to the issue at hand, I think a lot of people are misunderstanding the difference between the high class, and the upper middle or even the upper class. That is the difference between growing up spoiled and then joining the real world as you become an adult... And growing up as the heir to hundreds of millions, if not billions, of dollars and never ever having to worry about money for yourself, your family, your children, the children's children, and so on (regardless of any recession, depression, civil unrest, or war).

For those who said they were not raised spoiled; did you ever have to work or go hungry, or worry about not having a home from day to day, or did your parents clothe, feed and shelter you without a second thought or any hesitation? Think about it and no matter how righteous, deserving, or hardworking you think you are, there will be people in the world, ( probably some in your own town), to whom you will seem over indulgent and spoiled.

Don't forget there are also people in the world who could feed their whole family for a week on that five dollars. I know it's difficult to grasp the concept, but there are those for whom spending money is more work than making it. Actually... One sad thing about such a state of affairs is that I'm not one of those people

I think you missed my point here. I have no issue with people enjoying their wealth or spending millions on cars. I'm a capitalist and would applaud it.

The point I was making was about personal pride in earning your way in the world. Chance are this behavior of getting anything he wants had been going on his whole life and may not be repairable at this point. I hope for his sake I'm wrong and he has had a great set of parent that put a good head on his shoulders but I doubt it.

- Spoiled iny opinion is more about parenting skills rather than material objects. I would argue that a child growing up on $100 a month could be spoiled and another child growing up on a million a month may not.

there is no way you can argue that 1 million a month is NOT spoiled. Now relative to how they live and what their parents have it may be relative, which I believe is your point, and I agree.

you know who else made that argument? JUDAS. definitely not company i want to keep.

bottom line is none of us would entertain anyone else telling us how to spend our money. we should not be telling others how to spend theirs, be it this kids father, the kid himself or a generous Pakistan billionaire.

Everyone likes climbing up the ladder - no one likes coming down. Changing circumstances can certainly modify one's perspective violently fast.

Funny how that works out no?

But to each their own. No way for us to know if this guy is a philanthropist, and he very well may be. I doubt that'd make the article, so I'd hate to see him judged for that (not saying you are passing judgment, just making a general statement).

cmon guys..why are we working?
why are we busting our asses?

Not for the sake of doing it....there is a higher aim behind that : happiness

we all are striving for ultimate happiness by whatever we do

besides family, health, women, sex or respect and honour it also is money that contributes to getting closer to the ultimate state of hapiness..
If he has it,more power to him! period!
