Good for him. I just hope he still has his sense of accomplishment and the joy of rewarding yourself, rather than being rewarded. I wouldn't give up that for any car in the world.

who cares, its not like he is hurting you. And the comment about the guy giving 2billion to the floods none of us have proof he did or didnt give to them, just because his family doesnt go on tv and donate billions doesnt mean is he any more underserving of having nice cars. If my dad had billions i would have even a crazier collection

Me either... except for a McLaren F1 or a Lancia Stratos!

Maybe I don't know who Judas is.

I am not telling anybody how to spend money - do what's best for you if it's your money (or your dad's). I just think it's fascinating how 2 people can spend their money in completely different ways. If someone works and earns it, I think they should buy whatever cars they want. But would I buy that collection for my son? Nope. Would I get him a golden-encrusted key? Most definitely not. Does he need matching license plates for $100K a pop to show off dad's wealth? That's the kicker.

That is beauty of personal wealth, you can do whatever you want with it. Some people feel it should all be taxed away, but I would much rather private support during a disaster than wait for fema. Wyatt, considering you hang out with the pnw crew, you will still have access to supercar when u have the choice between buying a supercar and flood relief, since your post does all but call the guy out who chose cars.

I am all about do whatever you want with your money, I guess that is my capitalist side. As far as this kid is concerned, I would simply judge him based on what he does with what he has. If he just goes out to clubs and drives his cars and takes no responsibily in life, that is a fail. If he works hard and is a genuine caring person, all the power too him, he is in a position because his father did well; I support that.

Judas was the disciple of Jesus who was pissed when a women washed Jesus feet with very expensive perfume (a years income worth).

Was I coming off as a socialist? If so, I take that back. Those who know me well know that I am very pro-capitalist and fiscally conservative.

I have no problem with someone blowing their wad on exotics. That is why we strive to get rich - it drives the system - so we can indulge in what makes us happy. To some that is cars (most of us here), and to others it's helping his countrymen when they're in need.
Most of us with these fancy cars on the board also give back in many ways. We've had threads about that.

I am not saying the father in this case does not give back. But I personally would give a lot more back (to the extent where you're fuggin known for it, albeit that takes the selfless aspect out of it) before my son had a collection of supercars with gold keys and $100K matching license plates. This is beyond excessive, seriously. I would think the last 2 elements are just stupid anyway, but if the cars were at least his fathers, I would say 'rock on, you worked hard (maybe) and now you can reap the rewards.' But it's his son.
If you don't click with that, then we are just on different wavelengths.. Agree to disagree.

Not disrespecting the kid one bit. I am sure if I were in his position, I would be similar (actually I'd probably never get anything as rowdy as he has, nor the key/license plates). I am doggin' on the father.

I have never understood those license plates. Just pissing money away for the sake of telling others you HAD it. Less value than a $10,000 wallet or purse made of leather with a fancy logo for all to see.

*And TCF, I think you are saying that I should follow my own words and donate my money before I buy a supercar? Rest assured that I will buy my own supercars someday, but I will give back before my son has one.

That's a nice collection, so what if the dude is 22 yrs old. As long as he doesn't start painting 599s gold I say good for him.

"The international playboy has spent the summer flying his cars to London, Montreal, Las Vegas and New York to go on driving tours with friends."

Not conclusive but I don't see mention of any summer internships in there.
