Test drove the DBS last night (found out a friend of mine just picked one up couple weeks ago), first of all, it is a beautiful car, the fit and finish is far more superior than my scud. I didn't want to push it too hard since it's not my car. The power delivery was very smooth but I didn't feel very connected to the road, the car felt a bit heavy and definitely not as responsive as the scud. Overall it's a great car, it's a civilized gentleman's sports car. I would compare the driving experience very similar to the 599. It'd make a great DD but for spirited weekend drives...I still prefer my uncivilized and all out crazy scud missle!
Thanks guys for all your feedback, one thing I've learned from all this is to appreciate even more what a special car the scud truly is.

I test drove a convertible DBS with paddles, and own a scud - here are my thoughts -
The DBS is very similar to a California - Feels big, heavy, sluggish - I don't like the trans at all - felt similar to an automatic...
It does not excite you at all under accelaration - I took my girlfriend in the car - and she asked me "wow - did you floor it?" -
I couldn't wait to get back in my scud -

that`s like a punch in the face if you own the car....
such a question should - if driving an already relatively fast and hard to aquire car - better not be posed

The DBS is over priced and under powered, it's not half the car the Vanquish S was. That's a fact. It's still a beautiful car none the less. The Scud's are dropping in value every day, but you still can't beat the pure enjoyment that a Ferrari will give you. Not an easy decision.

He has a white DBS, manual. He's thinking about trading in for a touchtronic because he's an elder gentleman...but I kept telling him NO.
