Scuderia vs CGT -
#32
Nice write-up. My 2 cents is that those people who compare the two cars are really doing each an injustice. The CGT, like the Enzo and the Mclaren and a few others, are extremely rare, cost-no-object displays of the performance and technical prowess by the manufacturers.
The Scuderia is a very impressive piece. In fact, it's remarkably put together, integrated, tuned, and, for the price, provides a unique blend of performance and driveability. But (again, IMHO) cannot compare to the CGT. And it's understandable. On any given moment in the world economy, it's 1/2 or so of the price. And it's not intended to be Ferrari's 'brand car'. That is the job of the Enzo and it's successor.
For me and many others, the CGT fills a special place in the supercar world. Not the fastest, not the purest of purpose. But the single best demonstration of performance, technology and driveability ever produced.
It's tied on my list of all-time favorites (with the Ford GT - don't ask why, it's personal). I could afford the FGT so I have one in my garage. I hope to dust off a spot for the CGT some time in the future
