Ryan Tuerck Formula Supra Judd V10 Build

Video documentary shows the start to finish build of this amazing high-revving V10-powered Supra with the heart of a Formula One car.

Formula Drift legend Ryan Tuerck is no stranger to a crazy swap. After all, it was just a few short years ago that he spearheaded the GT4586. It’s a Toyota GT86 chassis with the engine from a Ferrari 458. It’s every bit as crazy as it seems. However, Tuerck and crew have outdone themselves. Their newest headcase swap makes the GT4586 look pretty dang tame. Believe it or not, it sounds a whole lot cooler, too. Tuerck dreamed up this V10-powered Supra with the Judd Engines heart from a Formula One car. Now, it’s a reality.

Tuerck recently posted a video to his Youtube channel showing the start to finish adventure that was building this amazing car. This video covers everything from stripping out the original engine and interior to test driving this monster on track. So, strap in and get ready for 11,000 furious RPMs of V10-powered Supra satisfaction.

No Bolt Was Left Unturned During This Amazing Build

The adventure begins with the teardown of the Supra chassis itself. Everything is removed. This not only includes obvious things like the engine and interior but the subframes, suspension components, and everything else, too. So much is removed, in fact, that Tuerck and one of his team members lift the chassis up and out of the shop by hand.

After the chassis gets a full cleaning and prep on a rotisserie, the crew begins designing and building the car’s roll cage. With so much of the chassis apart, the roll cage goes together with seaming ease thanks to the ability to remove major components to weld them out.

Following the roll cage, the crew custom fabricates engine and transmission mounts. Additionally, Tuerck shows off the custom aluminum adapter plate designed just for this build to adapt the mighty Judd V10 engine to their chosen transmission. After that, it’s on to suspension and steering components.

Perhaps one of the most outstanding pieces of this build is the custom 3D-printed intake manifold. It’s pretty remarkable how far 3D printing technology has come. To see it in use in a high-performance application like this is pretty awesome!

Custom Parts Galore = Crazy V10-Swapped Madhouse

After a seemingly endless barrage of awesome custom fabricated billet parts, montages of welding, and tons of great little details throughout the build, the car finally roars to life.

What follows is an absolutely amazing display of engineering. Not just thanks to the engineering behind the 11,000 RPM Judd V10 engine, but the engineering behind this car as a whole. It’s pretty awesome to see these two worlds come together. Not often will you get a chance to hear a clutch kick on an engine like this!

If you’ve got a good pair of headphones, put them on and fire this video up. You won’t regret it in the slightest.
