Bugatti Chiron Dyno Pulls!

Bugatti Chiron Dyno pulls are quite a spectacle.

Bugatti Chiron promises high horsepower and torque on the dyno, but did it deliver?

Ever since the over-the-top excessiveness of the Bugatti Veyron, the automaker has been creating cars that push the boundary of possibility. The Hamilton Collection’s Chiron is no different. The W-16-powered brute promises over 1,500 horsepower at the crank, and that’s no easy feat. However, did the excessive Bugatti Chiron dyno session manage to show those numbers?

Chiron's make a lot of power.

Almost Too Much for Dyno Test

When the folks at The Hamilton Collection wanted to hook a Bugatti Chiron up to the dyno, it raised a couple of issues. The car is so big and so wide that the dyno tester’s rollers barely accommodated the massive tires. However, they wanted to find out exactly how much power the car was putting down to the wheels.

The test itself was as risky as it was entertaining to watch. Given the overall size of the vehicle, it wasn’t guaranteed that the test wouldn’t result in a runaway Bugatti. Still, the multi-million dollar violence machine pulled hard and remained in place, much to the relief of the team.

Bugatti Chiron dyno pulls are a sight to behold.

Bugatti Chiron Power & Torque Results

After several pulls, the Bugatti Chiron revealed its peak horsepower and torque. In addition to being quite a spectacle when pulling hard on the dyno, the numbers it made were wild. The Chiron managed 1,313 wheel horsepower. That means that allowing for the loss of power from the crank, the Bugatti was making 1,527 horsepower at the crank.

In addition to making more power than Bugatti promised, the big car produced over 1,100 lb-ft of torque. It is obvious that the Chiron makes more power than promised under the right conditions. The Bugatti Chiron is truly a marvel of modern engineering.
