Monterey Car Week: Singer Hosts a Porsche-palooza Like No Other

Team Speed - Porsches at Monterey Car Week

Can’t get enough Porsches at Monterey Car Week? Neither could we, especially these classic Singer 911s.

What’s the easiest way to get into Monterey Car Week? We at Team Speed suggests getting a Porsche. Whether it’s a 911, a Cayman, or a Cayenne, if it’s a Porsche, it’s practically an invite to the fancy shindigs happening around Monterey around this time of the year.

And if it’s a classic 911, and especially if it’s a classic 911 “re-imagined” by Singer, well then, that’s just a VIP pass. We’ve collected a few such “passes” with our lens recently, and they are just the bees’ knees.

Taking an already great car like the classic 911 and turning it up to 11, Singer reworks the 911 into the car of any given owner’s dreams. Details like the placement of the fuel filler and oil filler caps are just some of the many things we love about about founder Rob Dickinson’s automotive endeavor.

We all know Bumblebee has been everything from a Volkswagen Beetle to a Camaro, but why not a yellow Singer like this? Just swap out the bright yellow stripes for black, and the transformer would be the perfect companion to the Martini-liveried 935 “flat nose” of fellow Autobot Jazz.

We all know a 911 already looks good in the classic powder blue and orange Gulf Oil livery, but here’s a Singer 911 wearing Gulf’s corporate colors of navy blue and orange. Even the Fuchs look good in Gulf Oil orange, and totally pop against the dark blue body panels.

Beige usually means boring, but paired with orange and olive green decals, plus olive green Fuchs, beige becomes anything but on this Singer 911. And speaking of butts, here’s a bonus backside in Sunoco’s famed navy blue and yellow.

Here’s a different take on the aforementioned beige 911, boosting the white up to 11 while swapping out the decal colors for pale gray and green. There’s no wrong way to have your 911.

Perhaps you’d like something decal-free? This sky blue Singer 911 is just what you need to chase away the gloom of a cloudy day.

This Singer 911’s got a set of pink Porsche decals fenced in by barely visible blue stripes against the navy blue body. The car is so nice, you’ll likely miss the matching pink brake calipers hiding behind the chrome Fuchs.

Last but not least, we’ve got this gray 911 with pale gray stripes and bright yellow-green Fuchs and Porsche decals. The combination is truly sublime.
