Monterey Car Week: McLarens of The Quail.

A pair of very special McLaren Sennas and a one of six P1 LM make for an incredible showing at this year’s signature event.

Sometimes, life can be rather rough. For us here at Team Speed, that means days of trudging through the endless rows of amazing rides at Monterey Car Week. All the while accumulating blisters on our feet and camera shutter fingers just to bring you extensive coverage of one of the greatest automotive events of the year. It’s thankless work, we know. But somebody has to allow you to see all of these amazing McLaren examples we were able to enjoy in the flesh.

For starters, how about a McLaren P1 LM? The former Nurburgring record holder was modified to be street legal, of course, so there’s that caveat. Regardless, this is a one of six hypercar that might just actually be faster than its race-spec brother, the GTR. And that’s good enough for us.

Of course, this wouldn’t be a proper McLaren party without at least one Senna. And in this case, there were two. The stunning green and black example belongs to mattress mogul and car fanatic Micheal Fux, a man who’s no stranger to incredible exotic rides. Fux’s Senna just so happens to be the very first one delivered to the U.S. And it sports custom “Fux Green” paint and a contrasting white/green interior.

The roadgoing Senna was joined by another decked out in Richard Mille guise that carries the same color scheme as McLaren’s limited edition wristwatch. Because, you know, why wouldn’t you want to match your $189,000 watch with your $1 million dollar ride? If anybody’s going to top this amazing lineup, we’ve yet to see it. But stay tuned,!
