Can Lamborghini’s Aventador S Make an Impact in Trendy Miami?
Lamborghini has traditionally built status symbols on wheels. Will the new Aventador S continue that tradition?
We absolutely adore the Aventador S, as it looks far better than any Aventador before it. The huge multi-spoke wheels are spectacular, possibly the best looking factory-fitment wheels in history. The new front bumper inlet is complex, elegant, and artistic in its presence. We aren’t exactly sure how Lamborghini did it, but they made the wedge-like and angular Aventador into an beautiful, aesthetic wonder. In this video from Motor Trend, Jonny Lieberman rolled the car down to the Florida Keys to find out what it’s like to see, and be seen.
From the birth of the Countach, Lamborghini buyers have primarily bought them for the sake of being seen in the newest and wildest raging bull from Sant’Agata. For a few years, the smaller, lighter, and sportier V10 Lamborghinis, namely the Gallardo and Huracan, have been quicker and arguably prettier than their V12-equipped Murcielago and Aventador siblings. The most recent version of the Aventador, the S, has given the car a more aggro-chic appearance, and upped the ante a bit over the model it replaces. Sure, the SuperVeloce is still a bit faster, but that version is a drug-addled punch in the face compared to the S.
That being said, the Aventador S is much more than good looks. It’s still capable of a sub-3 second 0-60 time, and a 10.5 second quarter mile, which is straight up crazy beans for a factory-built car. As much as we love the Huracan, the Aventador S just might be our favorite Lamborghini ever.
