Actor and rapper brought over his new McLaren 720S to New York from California only a couple of weeks after purchasing.

It’s good to be a celebrity sometimes. Aside from the fame, there’s the fortune to buy whatever your heart desires. Want a new house in the hills? Go for it! Want one on a private island and in New York? Why not? And don’t forget to buy a car or two to go in your garages, like a McLaren 720S and a Ferrari 488.

Just remember to buy toll passes for your rides (and make sure they work), or you could end up in a bit of trouble like legendary rapper and actor Ice-T did a while ago. TMZ reports the New York-New Jersey Port Authority busted Ice-T crossing the George Washington Bridge in his brand new McLaren 720S for failing to pay the toll.

Specifically, his McLaren had a transmitter for paying tolls through the bridge’s E-ZPass, but due to a malfunction, the payment failed to register. And speaking of registering, the Port Authority also busted Ice-T for not having any plates on the car, which may be okay for the first 90 days of ownership in California (where the McLaren was shipped from), but not so much in New York.

“Cops went a little Extra. Coulda just wrote a ticket. In and out… Moovin,” Ice-T tweeted upon release from his brief detainment, adding, “I love how people think just because I ACT like a cop on SVU I get special treatment from real cops… lol.” Ice-T went straight to work after the incident, playing the role of Detective Odafin Tutola on the long-running Law & Order spin-off series, Special Victims Unit.
