Famed German fashion house to clothe Porsche’s teams, will debut collaborative collection in March.

As the late French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent once said, “Fashions fade, style is eternal.” Porsche certainly lives by this creed, as the basic shape of the 911 hasn’t changed for over five decades.

German fashion house Hugo Boss also knows this, having made timeless pieces for racing teams and drivers like McLaren Racing and Niki Lauda since the 1970s. According to fashion industry magazine WWD, both Porsche and Hugo Boss are teaming up for a multi-year agreement to bring fashion to Porsche’s racing efforts.

Beginning this month, Hugo Boss will outfit every one of Porsche’s racing teams, including the new-for-2019 Porsche Formula E team. The look is described by WWD as “a trim and dynamic black Boss suit with sleek white shirt and black tie, and a supple black leather blouson, red zip-front top and black jeans.”

“Hugo Boss and Porsche both stand for innovation and perfection,” said Hugo Boss CEO Mark Langer to Motorsport.com. “We have already cooperated successfully in the area of motor sports over the course of recent years and decades. That is why I am delighted that our cooperation will now reach a new level with the future-oriented Formula E series.”

WWD adds that Hugo Boss and Porsche will also collaborate on a new menswear capsule collection set to debut March 2019, dubbed ‘Porsche x BOSS.’ The collection will be available online and at BOSS stores around the world.
