Ferrari F8 Tributo

F8 Tributo public debut occuring at the same time as first-ever Ferrari Challenge U.K.

A few months ago, Ferrari introduced the world to its latest and greatest creation, the F8 Tributo, at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The new car is the successor to the 488 series, which debuted back in 2015.

While it’s months away from arriving in showrooms for the 2020 model year, the public will be able to see the F8 Tributo for the first time during the first rounds of the inaugural Ferrari Challenge U.K., being held at Brands Hatch in West Kingsdown, England, May 18 and 19.

What makes this Ferrari special? It’s in the name: a tribute to the Ferrari F154 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8. Like the one backing the outgoing 488 Pista, the turbo V8 makes 710 horses and 568 lb-ft of torque to the rears of the F8 Tributo, retaining its title as Ferrari’s most-powerful V8 to date; it’s also used in the 488 Challenge, the car campaigned in the Ferrari Challenge series.

Additional features include a seven-speed dual-clutch auto, and lots of software to help push the new Ferrari from zero to 62 mph in 2.9 seconds, topping out at 211 mph. It also has plenty of aero derived from Ferrari’s racing experiences, and other touches found in other Ferraris, like the rear louvres from the F40 and the wrap-around rear spoiler from the 308 GTB.

Until it arrives in showrooms, though, you can play with the F8 Tributo configurator to get an idea of what this latest Ferrari will look like in your garage.
