Check Out the Evolution of this Team Speed Member’s 991 GT3

A 991 GT3? Not too shabby for this member’s very first Porsche.

Although he has been a member of Team Speed for only four years, BaderAbbas is no rookie when it comes to being a car enthusiast and building cars. Before acquiring the 991 GT3 seen here, his previous project was a 2008 Audi S5 back when he lived in the States, and before he headed to Saudi Arabia. We’re not sure if anything was done under the hood, but it was lowered, had a nice set of HRE wheels, and had a sweet carbon fiber steering wheel.

According to Bader, GT3s are apparently extremely rare in Saudi Arabia, and he had to travel to Dubai to pick up his 991. He doesn’t specify what model year his is, but it’s definitely a 991.1, which we can tell because of the exterior and PDK. And if you still couldn’t tell, another clue is the 3.8L engine as opposed to the 4.0L that comes in the 991.2. Even before taking delivery, he already had plans for his new project. He was going to paint the OEM wheels gloss black, wrap the entire car in another color, and add some carbon bits inside and on the exterior. Bader also mentions wanting to get aftermarket wheels and a different exhaust system, but later down the line.

Phase 1: Metallic Gloss Blue (2015)

Wasting no time, Bader took his 991 to the shop for a bit of a makeover. After thinking it over, he decided to have his baby wrapped in a beautiful metallic gloss blue, which absolutely looks fantastic. Gone were the silver finish of the OEM wheels and out came a freshly dipped set of gloss black units that complemented blue wrap. The windows were also lightly tinted as well. Just a few modifications the 991 and it made such a huge difference from the previous stock form.

After this, Bader went on a bit of a shopping spree and ordered a few goodies:

 • HRE P101 20” Brushed Gold (front)
 • HRE P101 21” Brushed Gold (rear)
 • Akrapovic Sports Cup Line titanium exhaust
 • Rear view camera system
 • Carbon fiber front lip
 • Carbon fiber rear lip/diffuser
 • Carbon fiber side skirts
 • Techart 3-spoke steering wheel

Phase 2: Back to White (2016)

As with life, sometimes bad things happen and Bader unfortunately had a minor accident that damaged the wrap on one side of the car. Thankfully it wasn’t bad enough to damage the paint. With that said, off came the blue wrap and the GT3 was back to white again. During this time, the parts that were ordered had arrived and the car was then sent off to Bydesign Motorsport to get everything installed and buttoned up.

And to change things up a little bit, the HREs were painted black and 997 GT3 RS styled stickers were added, but without the 4.0 for obvious reasons. Michelin stickers were also put on the tire sidewalls because race car. Shortly after that, a set of Akrapovic headers were purchased and installed let the engine breathe a little better and the suddenly the HREs were now copper. We’re not sure if they were painted or if they’re a brand new set. Either way, they look great!

Phases 3 & 4: Nardo Grey to Green (2017-Present Day)

After experiencing some minor engine problems, Bader took the 991 to the shop to get the issues all sorted out. Once that was taken care of, it was time for another wrap and this time he went with Nardo Grey and even added 997.2 GT3 RS stickers in a black and copper. To provide some better contrast, the HRE P101s were repainted in a lighter shade of copper. After a bit of a hiatus, the car was back in the shop to swap out the Akrapovic exhaust for a new IPE cat-less unit.

With the latest updates from April of this year, Bader once again decided to switch things up and wrap the 991 in a different color – this time in a dark green. To add a little bit of razzle dazzle, some classic Porsche stickers were thrown on in yellow. The HREs were also painted in satin black with yellow accents. To top things off, the calipers were painted black with the lettering in yellow.

As of late, we haven’t seen any new updates from Bader, but if his GT3 turns out to be a different color next time, we wouldn’t be surprised. What do you think about his GT3? Being such a great platform from the factory, it doesn’t really need a whole lot to make it better and the less is more approach definitely shows here. Let us know on the forum!
