Beautiful Porsche 996 911 Cabriolet is a Fine Example of Its Breed

Well-maintained Porsche 911 has already had its IMS bearing and engine replaced, and now it’s ready for a new home.

In the long-running, legendary history of the Porsche 911, most consider the 996 gen to be down near the bottom in terms of desirability. This is mostly due to one specific thing people don’t like about the car – its headlights. Otherwise, these cars are fantastic, like all other 911s, and since they’re not quite as popular, they’re also rather cheap. With just over 45,000 miles on the clock, it’s pretty clear that this Porsche has been well taken care of over the years. Regardless, these cars suffered from well-documented IMS bearing failures, and this car is one of them. It has since had the bearing replaced, and now runs on a factory replacement M96 3.6 liter, flat-six that produces 325 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque.

The fact that all of this work has already been done should be music to the ears of potential buyers, who won’t have to worry about any problems moving forward. This particular Porsche also has a Tiptronic five-speed automatic transmission for easy cruising. And once you put the top down on this all-black beauty, you’re going to want to do a lot of that.

Much of this 996 Porsche 911 remains stock, but quite a bit of maintenance has been performed recently to keep it functioning perfectly. That includes new control arms, hood and hatch struts, front stabilizer links, and fresh tires. Also new are the expansion tank, o-ring in the oil separator hose, and crankshaft oil seal. In addition, the headliner has been replaced, along with the front headliner panel and frame elastics on the inside.

For a hair under $30k, you’d be hard-pressed to find a Porsche 911 in this kind of condition. It looks amazing, has all the major mechanical work done, and undoubtedly drives fantastically.
