The problem is people who wear fakes usually want to pass them off as real. They clearly think they should be wearing a $10,000 watch and either can't afford it or don't want to spend the money. If you don't want to spend the money on a fancy watch, wear the $5 Timex. If you can't afford it, save up, and wear the $5 Timex in the mean time. It's dishonest, and honestly, who are we kidding, they usually look like crap. Anyone who knows even a little about watches will be able to tell it's fake. I see all these women carrying fake designer purses and think the same thing. Go buy a nicer purse you can actually afford and stop trying to flash these really bad fakes. It just makes you look desperate.

Edit: Come to think of it, I'm curious. Can you guys spot a fake purse like you can spot a fake watch? It's really obvious to me but that's because I own a bunch of purses.

Most of them are (to me). If the girl comes out of a bus, I'll have doubts. If she comes out of an SL550, no doubts.
I really don't care about ladies stuff to really look into it.

I used to commute to NYC on the bus sometimes! What's funny is most of the other women on that bus have the real deal (as do I). But the answer is basically "no"? Does that mean you assume ladies wouldn't be able to spot a fake watch? Interesting. Maybe I've been wasting money on buying real stuff, I should just start shopping on Canal St.
