Beautiful watch!!
I would be more concerned with scratching a watch then the strength of the material its made of...really who cares how strong the watch is, its not like you are going to be applying any load to the watch or tensile strength is important.
they should make watches from Tungsten, i have a Tungsten ring and you can not scratch or damage it

Yes I have always wanted a Tungsten watch as well. The only problem with Tungsten is that it is heavy, that could be the issue. I noticed my ring is about 2-3 times heavier than a platinum ring and about 5-6 times heavier than a titanium. Maybe in a watch application the weight is too heavy and noticeable. I would be interested to see someone make one though.Originally Posted by Cowtown10

Titanium has a higher tensile strength than steel, and also a much higher melting point. It does scratch more easily though, but that is just one of the properties of that particular metal. Lum-Tec makes tungsten watches, but I am not into the "high-shine" those watches have, so I stick with brushed or PVD watches.
*I also have a PAM 176, just because I like a lightweight, brushed watch.

Thanks a lot for the info on the Lum-Tec, I might get one! Would be an awesome daily watch.Originally Posted by SoCal
