Tag vs Omega

Hi. Today, I had the opportunity to buy a Tag Heuer or an Omega. It was really hard for me to decide, but ultimately I went with the Tag Heuer Carrera Day-Date Chronograph w/ leather strap and ordered a steel bracelet. Here are some pics. The place did not have Monacos, but almost every other Tag. It also had most Omegas. Now I'm kind of doubting my choose, as so many people say they would choose Omega over Tag. The only thing that limited my search for a watch was that I was looking for one with a large case diameter. The carrera I got has a 43mm diameter. When I compared it to a similarly sized Planet Ocean (I think it was chrono) the planet ocean felt significantly heavier for some reason. Could be the steel bracelet, but most of the weight felt concentrated on the case, which would lead me to believe it has a heavier movement. Anyways, I'm basically in between the Tag Carera I got, the Tag Grande Carreras, and all of the Omegas.

I like both. I own a couple of Tags, but have always wanted an Omega. Go with what fits your wrist the best and feels like the easiest wearing watch; you already bought the Tag, so don't doubt yourself.

Tag, dont waste it on the Omega. if it was a rolex then that would be another answer. My first expensive watch was an Omega, where is it now?

Its in the closet it looks too bland.

I always thought Tag was a poor man's Omega, and Omega was a poor man's Rolex.

I am not a Rolex fan, simply because they don't look good on my wrist sizewise. Nixons fit my wrist better than most watches, and they are <$500.

Omega is definitely the "better" watch but the differences are negligible IMHO. Get what you like better on your wrist.
