A Jacob & Co. with diamonds will get that done better than any of his 3 choices

For the most part, I agree with dphouse. All three are nice watches, but can't really put Panerai and Rolex in the same league as Audemars-Piguet.

And Brit, I feel you on ruberclad AP. My favorite ROO (and I don't really like the ROO personally) is the Safari. If you can stretch your budget a couple grand, I'd go for it...

Pistolero63 is an unknown quantity at this point
The AP is beautiful, however, a SS Daytona is nothing to sneeze at. It is a watch not built in large quantities and is relatively difficult to get from an authorized jeweler at list price. You can find them on ebay or other sources for 4k to 5k more than its list price of $7,900.00. If you can get one at list that might save you 5k to 7k over the AP that might go to other wants.

Aaaah gotcha, not your style. Hmm, have you looked at JLC master compressor? Pretty sure it's within budget. I tried one on in Vegas a month ago, wasn't for me (a little busy), but my dad fell in love with it and wants to get it as his next piece.

JLC>AP>PAM>Rolex

JLC wins hands down for me. Master Compressor is a long time favourite ... and if you go for the Rossi edition ... *faints*

AP over PAM simply because Panerai has become too popular. Weird to be turned off by that ... but I just see too many PAMs around.

Rolex never did anything for me.
