The blatant replica is stealing. The replica will try to fool people by even trying to replicate the original logo.

Now some people see "hommage" watches in a different light, I don't. Okay so they "only" copy the style, and don't try and brand the watch as something it isn't, but again, what about IP?

The original company spent a ton of time and money coming up with a successful design, marketing it, and building the brand.

In my business I deal with Industrial Designers and Engineers on a daily basis, and the costs associated with bringing a new product to market is significant.
The original OEM deserves the revenue generated from these efforts, not some company that reverse engineers someone elses work, and produces copies.

I believe its better to wear a $50 original Seiko than a $200 fake A. Lange & Sohn.

I wear a beater watch that is the Seiko Orange Monster. I've also bought some really nice Seikos automatics from Hong Kong. Everyone I see with a fake usually keep them for a few months before they break. So why bother?
