$3,000 budget....21st birthday gift...help?

Guys,

I turn 21 in a few months and want to get myself a really nice piece. I currently own a Tag Link, but want something I can have as a more limited wear, special piece.

If you had $3,000 (give or take a hundred or two), what would you get?

I really love the Pam's, but don't know if I'll be able to score something like that within my price range.

Any feedback on the PAM 005? Love the look, seems relatively inexpensive () for a Panerai. Thoughts?

Thanks guys,

Greg

I highly doubt you'll get a PAM worth having at that price.

I'd go for a tag Monaco (I still need to pick one up, it's a gorgeous piece) or if possible a used Rolex if you can get a used one for that price.

people question the reliability or quality of Tag...any truth to that?

My Tag Carrera had to be sent in for service last week. Watch is about a year and half old. Every mrning it would be about 6 hours behind and the crown felt like it was jamming up and could not be wound.

Interesting.

I've had my Tag since i was 13 and have not only had no problems with it, but only replaced the battery twice in 11 years since! As of 2 months ago it needs a new one, which will be it's fourth.

I can vouch for Tag, had one for 3 years. I had a Cartier Roadster as well which if you can bargain shop you can get one close to $3,000. I really liked that watch a lot. GL with the gift.

I still think Tag makes a great watch, I was just sharing my recent experience, which is my first issue with any of my watches.

I've owned a Breitling Super Ocean for the past year and it has never given me any problems. It is within your price range too.
