Anyone here a member of a vacation club?

Such as Exclusive Resorts? Exclusive Resorts - Luxury Destination Club & Private Vacation Homes

The properties seem pretty outstanding...wondering what the "extras" are like?

I've looked at Exclusive before, but the friends I have who bought in said it is too hard to get the property you want, when you want it. If you had no, or grown, kids, and could go whenever with maximum flexibility on your travel times, you could probably hit most of the stuff you want. But apparently everyone games the system and locks up everything desirable that's available as soon as it comes online, even if they don't plan on really using it, as barter chips for when they do want to go somewhere.

Sounds like a pain in the ass to me. And apparently there is nowhere near enough availability of the truly desirable stuff, and too much of the stuff few people want. Cool concept, but everyone says they've oversold their capacity.

I believe that...I was just reading more into it. If you want holiday priority it is more coin again. You can stay in some pretty posh hotels for those dollars.

Starwood Vacation Ownership

Any feedback on the Starwood Vacation Ownership program? I was at a resort of theirs last week, and they were trying to sell me the ownership program. Seems decent, but only if you travel a decent amount, and plan to stick to Starwood resorts/hotels I guess.

Thoughts?
