lol yeah that map sucks donkey balls: basically we sailed the through canals and rivers up to Amsterdam. From there on we crossed the 'IJsselmeer' lake wich is in the center of Holland and the last stretch ('Waddenzee' or Wadden sea) is basically a shallow, sheltered part of the North Sea.

Hopefully this map is a little more understandable.
