Urasawa is great and the best in LA by far.. just not on the list. It's totally subjective. I thought Joel Robuchon in Vegas was one of the best meals I have ever had in the US. Yet, it's never been on the list.

Masa is #90.. the list continues 51-100. Don't know why they call it World's 50 Best.. should be World's 100.

Crazy. We went there after many years of listening to the hype and were let down. In fact, the only good things I could say about the place is the table setting was the most beautiful I'd ever seen. And the bread was amazing.

The ambiance was incredible.. stunning decor. The bread and dessert carts were amazing... I've never seen anything remotely close to them in any other restaurant. I thought the tasting menu was very good. Robuchon was there that evening and came to our table to discuss the menu and how they prepared a few of the courses.. that blew me away.

If he was there I'm sure everything was a level above par. We don't give second chances, however. There are too many other consistent restaurants to choose from. I was actually surprised Andre's didn't make the list. We have been going there for 20 years.
