Sorry, the previous comment was not supposed to sound spoilt. Its hard to portray the actual tone of a comment on a internet forum...

SoCal is an unknown quantity at this point
Member Shadown lives in/owns a restaurant there. You should PM him and see about meeting up.

Hi,

Mate, you're going to be a stones throw away from Australia - I'm sure it's already locked in now, but if there's a chance, you should come and see it.

Enjoy it either way!

Cheers,
Nik

Who cares? Even if his parents are paying for it, I think that's a better use of their money than buying laptops and ipads, and range rovers for unappreciative brats. Experiencing other cultures is a learning experience that you can't get in a classroom, and is worth doing regardless of who's dime it's on.

Anyways, there is so much to do you really can't have a bad time. I would say rent a car too, but you really can't. So I'd say hike up some mountains, go to whatever weird events/festivals are going on when you get somewhere, just do things you normally wouldn't and you'll have a great time exploring local culture.

@SoCal - where does member Shadow have a restaurant?

@theprotest - are you located in Perth by any chance? I am in Perth sometimes due to my fathers business. Perths a great place

@Pinned - that how it is. I must say, I have been very fortunate to be able to experience so many cultures and new places in the world and I dont take it for granted! Being able to travel is the greatest thing and therefore I always take in all the experiences that are offered to me.
