Any Hawaii expects?

Just trying to work out what I would do with my 3 kids (10,10,7) there in October for two weeks

It's going to change based on what island(s) you are going to.

Only active volcanos are on the big island, though I don't when the last eruption was. Maui has Haleakala which offers a great sunrise and some views. You can also bike down from the summit.

You can dive or snorkel anywhere, but the big fish sanctuaries are at hanauma bay or Molokini islet.

We go diving every year on the Kona coast (the Big Island, Hawaii). Our favorite hotel in the world is also on the Kohala coast on the Big Island (4S @ Hualalai).

We go every year in October right after the Ironman.

Surf lessons, and water sports such as parasailing and jetskiing. It's not whale season yet so those will still be available.

And if you go to Maui, you have to eat at Mama's Fish house.

Have a blast!

Mama's is great. Much much better than Waterfront.

But if you have small toddlers, they would probably be full on bread before the first course came like baby scud did. Island speed service.

Kram,

Since you are a local, where can you get a nice authentic plate of loco moco?
