Things to do in Dallas

Just found out I am going to be heading to Dallas in February for a training course for work. I am going to be spending 2 weeks there and won't have anything to do on the weekends. Hoping some people from Dallas, or frequent visitors, can give me some ideas of cool, interesting, or fun things to do while in town. I am already planning on going to an NHL game which I am excited about.

Would love some recommendations on places to eat as well, but keep in mind it has to be reasonably priced as I have a limit for reimbursement.

Also, if any local TS'ers want to meet up then PM me!

You can probably get a tractor ride..but then again that probably doesn't excite you being from KY.

Yeah I have done that. Although, I am from and live in the only real city in the state. Get outside the city limits and it's all country and redneck.

BoneDaddy's is a cool BBQ place that has chicks dressed skimpy like a Hooters. Decent price and feels very "Texas" every time i have been there.

There is also some cool stuff in Plano in an area around the Marriott (kinda newish area) - a restaraunt named Jaspers if i am not mistaken. Pretty cool little area with shops and stuff around too.

What about a Mav's game too? Stadium is right downtown (prally same place as NHL play).

Cool, thanks for the info Jon. Was going to have to find a good Texas BBQ place at some point. I planned on going to go catch a Mavs game since the Lakers are in town one of those nights, but haven't bought a ticket because I don't think I really want to pay $150 for an average seat to watch an NBA game. Might change my mind with so much free time though.

If you are looking for BBQ, here is a few good places:

Hard Eight BBQ
Pecan Lodge
Cooper's BBQ
Rudy's BBQ

If you want true Texas country you can go into Ft Worth and visit the Stockyard area. Billy Bobs is down there.

If you like beer:
The Flying Saucer
The Ginger Man
The Old Monk
The Holy Grail Pub
Meddlesome Moth

I really don't go to any nightclubs but D Magazine might be able to give you some insight.

D Magazine : Best of Big D 2011: Nightlife

Have fun in Dallas!
