Everything looks so tasty but that seared ahi looks incredible. Is this all from different places? Sorry if I've missed where you dine. I've only been eating sushi for a short time but I literally would have it 4 nights a week if I could.

i note the name of the restaurant in each post, but the vast majority is probably from 2 local places (San Fernando Valley, LA, CA) that i frequent. Scattered throughout are other places which are not so close and a few out of town places. there are times when we hit 4 times a week. our whole family loves it. it just gets expensive, especially when you have a teenage boy.

I was too distracted by the food pics to notice the places I guess

We are 4 down one to go in the family. She tried a piece last time and is warming up to it. I think she's had her fill of hibachi.

My son has been eating since he was 5. I kind of forced a lot of things upon him, but now he eats everything. My 5 year old girl has had the taste since birth. She too will eat anything.

We went to Masu which used to be our favorite when baby scud was about a year and a half.

We ordered butter fish for him, which he finished by himself. We gave him a small piece of kampachi and toro, and he ate the toro, but not the kampachi.

He also eats pretty much anything, including Taiwanese pig blood cake, makes me so proud. I am going to go have stinky tofu with him when we go to Taiwan this year.

I prefer Kabuki to Sushi USA. Sushi USA is like a cheaper version of Masu near our place in West LA.

What do you do with a child seat though? Now that we have one toddler and a child seat, I imagine they wouldn't want us taking up four spots on the sushi bar?

Dude, I eat everything, but I dislike rotten tofu. LOL. Funny how kids like the expensive stuff. My son would have 10 orders of toro if I let him.

i think it's cool if you are somewhat of a regular who spends money and doesn't dilly dally. we take a lot of time, but we are eating and drinking the whole time. we don't finish and sit for 45 minutes chit chatting. also, we used to use a seat that would clamp on to the sushi bar. it takes up less space and is actually a better seating position for the kiddo. peyton used it until she was about 3.
