I have🤞🏻 been🍀 lucky enough to experience many awesome things in my life - In this 💻 thread I share some of it with you.
Who: Kylie Minogue, the Australian 🇦🇺 pop 👸🏼 princess, Rutger Hauer, Dutch 🇳🇱 actor and 👊🏻 MONACO BODYGUARDS.
Where: French 🌴 Riviera - Nice 🇫🇷 and Monte Carlo 🇲🇨
Why: During the 🎬 making of the 🎶 music video "On a Night like this"from her 💿 album"Light Years"- we were assigned to protect both Kylie Minoque and Rutger Hauer.
👨🏻 Rutger Hauer: I "knew him" 🍿 from the Sylvester Stallone movie Nighthawks (1981), Ridley Scotts Blade Runner (1982), The Hitcher (1986), Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992) with Luke Perry, Donald Sutherland and Hilary Swankand. Saw him later in Batman Begins (2005), Sin City (2005) and I was curious to meet him in person.
But he turned out to be a very spesial guy, grumpy and I did not like him. Maybe he got annoyed, because he needed to buy his Gauloises Caporal 🚬 cigarettes himself.... seems like he confused the bodyguard with his assistant. He did not make that mistake again. Needless to say... that day it was 🚓 "a long trip" back to Monaco where he slept at the Hotel de Paris, located on the famous Place du 🎲 Casino.
👩🏼 Kylie Minogue: I waited for her inside the terminal of Nice Aiport and said "Welcome to the Southern of France", she smiled and thanked me. It was like instant chemistry. The first thing that struck me, was how tiny she is - 152 cm. Of course I knew that she was small, but when you stand so close (that why they call it close protection) to her, then you REALLY realize it.
It was very interesting to see how much she changed when she was the 🎙️ singer or just Kylie Minogue. I really like her, Kylie. What you need to understand is that she was REALLY famous at the time, of course she is still famous but she was on the top of her career. She had her second round of fame with her comeback single "Spinning Around" that was a gigantic hit both in 🍾 Night Clubs, 📺 TV and 📻 radio. Not to mention the music video with Kylie in her now iconic GOLD 🩳 hotpants.
♥️ "FUN FACT": Well, Kylie stayed at Le Meridien in Nice, which is a real pearl of a 🏨 hotel, with a stunning view of the both the sea, city center and many "secret" advantages. On our way to the hotel from the airport I noticed something strange. In my rearview mirror I could see that both Kylies legs were pulled up under her chin, up on the back seat where she was sitting. I was really wondering why she did that, but as long as she was ok all was fine by me and I did not think much of it..... that was untill I drove home in the night and had a look on the floor in back. It was "full of" sand 🙈 on the floor mat. The night before I had vacuum cleaned and washed the limosine, what had happened?? Only then did I think about that earlier in the morning, on the same day I drove my mother, that is not with us anymore (I miss you every day ❤️) to the airport. Not intentionally, she had draged the sand in. We went to the ⛱️ beach every day during my mothers stay. Only she could make the Kylie Minogue sit with her legs up 😂. Needless to say we laughed a lot about that.
♠️ "FUN FACT: More than a decade before as young 🎤 🎧 DJ at TIFFANY and other discotheques / top night clubs around in the world, I was playing "I Should Be So Lucky", "The Loco-Motion", "Hand on Your Heart", "Never Too Late", "Especially For You" and "Better the Devil you Know". I have litteraly been able "to 🎚️ mix" (did you catch it?) the two worlds of the 🎹 music- and 🚓 security industry, even combining them on numerous occasions. Trust me, it comes in handy as a bodyguard, when you know a thing or two about this business from the inside. I have also impressed more than one with my knowledge. But little did I know back then that I was going to work for her one day in the 🔮 future.
And I will not lie to you, it was pretty awesome.

Where:🌴 Sant Carles de la Rŕpita, Spain 🇪🇸 an interesting ⛰️ place to explore with exceptional 🥘 food. This is a 🦐🦞 seafood 🍴lovers paradise. And it boasts one of the largest natural 🏄♂️⛵ harbours in Europe.
Why:I rented a 600 m2 / around 6400 square feet big 🏡 villa. At the time I was searching for a 3rd home, a second ☀️ holiday home. After so many years in and around 🇲🇨 Monaco, it was to change a little and split my 🕰️ time in different locations. Looking for ✅ something 🤫 quiet, 🕊️ peaceful more "undercover"/idyllic.
I have been coming in Monaco from 1992, operating there since 1998. I am still around and I still ❤️ love Monte-Carlo, Nice and Cannes, but what I now avoid is all the tourists in 📅 July, August not to mention 🎄 Christmas, 🎉 New Year and 🐣 Easter.
In the end it turned out to be a little too far away from the French Riviera, the logistics moving all our 🚓 🚗 🚙 vehicles, lack of nearby big 🛫 airport and too far away from a 🌆 big 🛍️city.

I ordered special ❄️ winter tyres for the car and with the 4-wheel drive it was just awesome, driving 200 km/h + in the ☃️ snow from Copenhagen to Aalborg ❤️.

WHERE:🏨 Hôtel du Cap Eden-Roc at 🌴 Cap d'Antibes 🇫🇷. This elegant hotel with its 150-year history, guests from Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald, to Monet, Picasso and "all of Hollywood". This is where many of our clients are living during the 🎥 Cannes Film Festival.
FUN FACT 1️⃣: Some of the scenes in the 1986 🎬 film, Under the Cherry Moon, starring and directed by 🎸 Prince, were filmed at the hotel.
FUN FACT 2️⃣: For many years the hotel did not accept 💳 credit cards. Cash 💶 only was accepted. The entrance fee to the beach club we paid was 500 Franc per person. Cash 💰.
WHY:Lunch 🍝🥩🍨 at the iconic beach club restaurant. And after enjoying the pool terrace, sea water infinity pool carved out of the cliff (and much-photographed by society photographer Slim Aarons in the 1970s), is THE place to be seen by day. It is such an amazing spot and still after all these years one of my favorite places.
WHAT: I got my 🏎️ Mercedes SL 60 ///AMG, painted in Ferrari "Rosso Corsa red". A "one off" with handmade red and black interior. It was a "sensation" in 🇲🇨 Monaco as it was one of the first if not the first ///AMG. Everywhere I went people was asking AMG ??... WHAT is that ??? or Mr.... your car is No. 1 in Monaco....this was another time....
Back then people were surprised why I modified a MERCEDES. They thought I was crazy. A lot has changed since then....
"Ozark"🎬 Money laundering. Tax evasion. At its best. Excellent intense entertainment and a good story. This is definitively a brilliant TV-SERIES that you need to see and its getting better and better. Season three was the best so far.
The story 📼 Ozark follows Marty Bryde (Jason Bateman) - a financial adviser whose gig laundering millions for the cartel goes wrong (understatement), causing him to cut a deal with the Mexican drug lord he’s working for. As a result, Bryde lands himself, his family and his broken marriage in a tourist town in the Ozark mountains while trying to repay a humongous debt to the cartel.
My 🖥️ Background story You could compare it to Breaking Bad - husband turning to the underworld to support his family - they are of course different. But if you like BB, you will like Ozark as well. Personally I dont have any experience with this hillbilly flare, but maybe that's why it is so interesting....
Awards 🏆 The series has won 2🏅Emmys (14 Emmy Awardnominations) and Jason Bateman has received 2 Golden 🌐 Globe Award nominations for Best Actor - TV Series Drama. So I guess that I am not the only one appreciating Ozark.
The 💻 serie has three 📀 seasons - 🔮 maybe an upcoming fourth 📀 season.

I tell you. It is brutal. It is evil. It is fantastic. The realistic unglamorous tv-series about a crime syndicate "The System" or the Camorra if you like... much more violent, and if you ask me unpredictable, then the "old school" mafias like the Sicilian Cosa Nostra.
My 🖥️ Background story
I read Roborto Savianos book, "Gomorrah" with great interest when it first came out in 2006. At that time I was also working a lot in Italy, in fact so often that I had my Lamborghini Murcielago parked in Rome and I drove it down to Napoli, Sorrento, Pescara and all the other places where I stayed/worked. When it comes to his book, Saviano's translator was not always up to the task. Fucili a pompa are not "air rifles", but pump-action shotguns. Auto blindate are not "armoured cars", but ordinary sedans with bulletproof plating. At first Savianos book was passed around as gifts by gang members, but as it grew in popularity his life became under imminent threat. A real threat. He has since then been under 24 hour armed protection by police bodyguards.
The serie has four seasons and a upcoming fifth season - which is expected to air in 2021.

This is the Sopranos on steroids. One of the best crime TV series ever made? One of my all-time favorites. It humanises gangsters and makes them likeable. Crime in Naples is said to escalate when it is on air.
FUN FACT 1️⃣: This time we are also in a for us, very familiar place, 🇱🇻 Riga. The location of one of our 🏢 branches. In an episode we see the 🍸 Skyline Bar, at the top of 🏨 Hotel Radisson Blu Latvija. Here I have had many many cops of ☕ coffee. First introduced to me by 💔 Ronny, RIP.

Their "holidays" 🤣 HA HA..... is to go 🚲 bicycling on a nearby mountain, borrowing a small place for a few days, an auto camper from 1980's etc. But most of them never travel ✈️ abroad. OR they go NOWHERE at all. The adult children in both 20's, 30's and 40's come home to the parents; stay, eat and drink for free. Just staying home doing nothing. What do they do to take away focus from their own sad life? Talking over and over again about the foreigner life, things and months of 💶💶 holidays. They feel small.. they are small 😄. They are so frustrated. The feelings of inadequacy are projected through negative thoughts. But that does not change anything.
