Monaco F1 2011 catch up?

Good tip, I'm pretty good at planning things like this, I don't like to "wing it" on trips very often. Anyhow, I have my accommodation booked, transportation figured out, rough schedule in mind, just trying to locate the best deal on tickets and I'll be set.
Buying directly from the official site is my best bet?
I'd be up for something on Saturday night. Will have 1 guy friend with me, significant others are staying home - just a boy's trip this time!

So I scoped out all of the info on the official Formula1 site. Paddock access is like $3k per day which is more than I want to pay.
Anyone have insight on which grandstands are best? Or maybe what the apartment tickets are all about?
Is it cheaper to buy in person or online prior to the event? Trying to get a buddy of mine to come with and he's wary of huge cost overruns.
Monaco Bodyguards, come drop some knowledge bro!

I would try to get hold of some apartment tickets with food and drinks. It is hard to say if it is better to buy in person or online. It is more unsure but prices tend to fall just before the event if they are not fully booked.

Staying in Italy is also a great idea (and cheaper). And they are more friendly as well.....

Factories are 2 - 3 hours away, depending on what car you have.....
