Also, have any of you guys flown on Air India? How is it? Looks like I might be flying to Germany on Air India this summer and i'd like to know more about peoples experiences on that airline.

Horrible. Honestly I'm surprised they still exist because the service is atrocious, the seats are half broken, and 99% of flights are delayed.

Pay the extra coin and fly Lufthansa if you're going to Germany. Virgin's my favorite international airline right now, followed by BA, but I figure Lufthansa would be cheapest (aside from maybe AI).

Yup, travel all over for work, so rarely have much time to enjoy the hotels... Leela Palace in Bangalore is another favorite (will post that one soon).

Yes, 24hrs is a bit long, is about 18-20 depending on which flights I take... usually SFO >> Frankfurt >> India

I think from NYC you now have direct via JetAir!

BTW, I flew the new JetAir 1st from Delhi to Singapore, and it ROCKS!!!

Ditto on the above - avoid AirIndia at all costs... was forced to take it once b/c of a missed connection, and was the worst flight I've ever had (and I was in 1st class)... Luft is what you want... Coach on Luft is better than 1st in AirIndia, no joke. And the new Luft Business is better than most airlines 1st class.

Curious, how new? I flew Lufthansa Business roughly a year ago and was a bit dissapointed. Only noteworthy thing I recall were the entertainment/tv options. I'm sure a lot could have changed in a year and I'd trust your frequent flyer card over mine I take it you're doing sales or bizdev of some sort to warrant such a travel schedule?

Probably the same business class then... I flew this about 6 mo's ago, although they did bill it as a newly configured plane, so not sure... seat was good (not lay-flat, but close), entertainment systems was upgraded... the food on Luft is weak in business... 1st class has great food, however, and usually a good wine selection.

Looks amazing, although a bit deserted ... both in terms of people and accessories. A few extra accessories would make jaw-dropping nice IMO.
