Minetta Tavern is the best steak - but good luck getting a reservation on short notice.

Peter Luger is the good second choice - but it's not fancy.

i've been to sparks, the homestead, and lugers and my favorites are in that order

I love The Little Owl in the West Village. Not 5* dining, but it is a great restaurant with a great atmosphere.

I would second Peter Lugers in Brooklyn. If you are going to be on Long Island i would suggest Tellers Chophouse in Islip.

Wolfgang's is my favorite as well...

Sparks use to be top notch but just isn't the same place anymore.

Love Homestead as well, but Wolfgang's for sure is the best.
