what an amazing, exotic, faking dangerous place hehehe
probably the best vacation iv ever had, the beach, the food, and the women were out of this world! but it was defi dangerous, i have local friends there that took care of us and showed us around otherwise i wouldnt dare do it on my own, for ex certain places you dont stop at red lights coz ur goin to get mugged, other places you just not welcome, we were so crazy we even drove through this favela and ran into a gangster check point, it looks like a normal police check point except they wore footbal jerseys and yanke caps and had huge as machine guns, they asked my driver friend some questions and they let us go, i looked like this that moment had the potential of going very wrong

GetliquidNow i live in Brazil and i can tell you 2 things: no place in the world beats brazil for news Years, and no place beats brazil for Carnaval!hehehe
for the past 7 years i´ve spent my new years and carnavals at a place Cafe de la Musique in Florianopolis (just type that in youtube for your pleasure!) and will be going there this time as well! Brazil is wonderful, but i always have to watch out, know where you are going and the rights places.

I'm coming this friday for the weekend to the Interlagos F1 prix. I've been in Sao Paulo twice in the last years and in the south about 5 years ago. I would recommend to stay in the city places and just be careful with the night walks. Just for precaution, but I've never heard any problem with any relative.

Jonniesbr, the house they rented on the beach is in Florianopolis.

As much as I want to go, I know that going with this friend will only end in trouble.

I think I'm going to have to tell him that I'm going to pass on this one because I value my life too much lol!

Robert - do you know from experience how easy it is? On another note, didn't you once start a thread about fishing the Amazon? I think you mentioned catching Piranha or maybe I'm crazy.

I've traveled all of the world, including some 'not safe' areas but have not yet been to Brazil. That being said you should be fine as long as you keep your head on straight. Party and have a good time but keep your guard up (aka, don't get so drunk you are useless to spot trouble). If you approach the trip with the mindset that if there is trouble you are on your own you will act accordingly and will be fine.

I did - posted pics of piranha, peacock bass and other tasty critters I catch when I go out there. I'd be prepping to go now if it wasnt for the fact that the lodge I go to is closed....need to find another location now.

 

Just dont tell me its at Jurere international beach??if so i will be staying there too hehehehe
man you MUST go to florianopolis!its a very safe place (no joke), lots of beautiful girls, awesone sunset parties and nightlife!!!really a must!!!
