Rotten Shark the Icelandic dish

Rotten Shark the Icelandic dish
is on bizarre food right now.
Apparently it's like stinky tofu, really stinks when you smell it, but actually tastes pretty good.
Speaking of stinky tofu, can't wait for our Taiwan trip to get some real stinky tofu!!!

There's an episode of the F Word (food show with Ramsay) where he and James May share a bit of it. It looks brutal.

OK, call me biased, but I prefer the Taiwanese pig blood cake than the Slaughter boiled sheef blood with sheef intesntine and fat.
The Taiwanese pig blood cake is made of dried pig blood held together with high glutunous rice, steamed, then dipped in sweet and spicy sauce, covered in peanut flour, and with cilantro sprinked on.
Gotta get me some this time and have baby scud try some too!

Eat up you pooooossies ....
Mmmm... Sheep face. Served cold with a side order of liver pudding and a few cubes of rotten shark. This Icelandic "delicacy" still has its teeth and eyes intact and if the smell of the rotten shark doesn't get to you, then the appearance of the sheep after it is half eaten will...
Icelandic Rotten Shark - Hákarl is prepared by gutting and beheading a Greenland shark and placing it in a shallow hole to rot for several months. It is then dug up and left out to dry and further putrefy for another few months. It smells like rotten urine and tastes like ammonia. This is that nastiest stuff I've ever eaten.

No, have not been since college.
I do like properly cooked stinky tofu though. I would think given your background you wouldn't mind the more um, exotic food...
