Which Hawaiian Island?

Short vacation. No crowds, no big cities.

Want to see some mountains, volcanoes and other cool activities. Only a week.

Thanks.

Oahu is probably the most commercialized island. Kaui, IMO, is the best out of the islands, especially for what you are looking for.

I went to Maui and loved it, but that is the only island I visited.

Jamie, have you tried the Island of Lanai?

It is tremendous. There are two resorts on the island.

The first is the Manelli Bay Hotel which is on one of the best beaches around.

The second is the Lodge at Koele at the center of the island.

Visiting these two resorts is like having two totally different vacations.

One is a tropical paradise. The other is like a ranch with jeep tours and ancient cave drawings.

It is about a 45 minute fairy ride from Maui.

The whole island is owned by Rupert Murdoch and is managed by the Four Seasons. The hotels are connected so you can move between them at your leisure. And there are usually not that many people there.

It is my favorite place in the world.

Lanai. Remote, good hiking trails, island hopping, swim with spinning dolphins or sharks, good golfing and big fishing...

good times to be had.

You must be exhausted from the winter you've had, sitting by the pool at your Florida mansion buying supercar after supercar on your laptop . . .

At least I'm not bitter.

Big Island....We just spent 10 days here and you will love it. Close enough to restaurants etc but All by yourself. Fantastic house sleeps 10. Personal pool with all the gear needed for snorkle in the front yard. Close to Great stuff. 1 1/2 hours maximum drive to the Highest point in all of Hawaii almost 14000ft if you want you can drive to the top. Same Island as the on going eruption. Minutes from Helicopter Tours. Ziplines. Surfing isn't great on this Island but I think unless you are on the North Side of any of them surfing isn't great. 20 minutes from a Major airport and all you need. My wife has been many times and she felt the Big Island is by far her favorite. I've only been to Kauai before so my reference points don't count.
The woman that rented us ours also will hook you up with a personal chef for the week if you so desire.
Just a great place. It's 20 minutes from Kona Airport. Any other questions just ask. You will love it. The pictures don't do the house justice truly perfect for 2 or 10.

Puako. That's just down the way from the house they filmed Black Widow at.
