^^^just a fantastic stretch. It isn't a mile long sand beach but is 8 minutes door to sand from Hapuna Beach one of the top 5 Beaches in the world. The Beach front for this house Jaime has Sand with Lava rocks and pools with Sea Turtles. You swim just 200 yards off shore and there's a fantastic stretch of Reef for snorkling that is populated only by local home swimmers.

It is tremendous. There are two resorts on the island.

The first is the Manelli Bay Hotel which is on one of the best beaches around.

The second is the Lodge at Koele at the center of the island.

Visiting these two resorts is like having two totally different vacations.

One is a tropical paradise. The other is like a ranch with jeep tours and ancient cave drawings.

It is about a 45 minute fairy ride from Maui.

The whole island is owned by Rupert Murdoch and is managed by the Four Seasons. The hotels are connected so you can move between them at your leisure. And there are usually not that many people there.

It is my favorite place in the world.

It is actually owned by David Murdock.

I would pick Oahu if you only had one island to got to. Lots to see but crowded. There's Waikiki Beach, Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head and so on....

If you want to see active an volcano, then check out the Big Island. Seeing red hot lava is an amazing experience.

We go to Hawaii every year, and after visiting Maui, Kauai, Lanai, and Hawaii, I have to say that we keep returning to the Big Island every time. Highly recommend the 4S @ Hualalai. Favorite place on earth.

What's everybody's favorite place on the Big Island?

Mine:

Above water:

Pololu Valley

And, below water...

Manta @ Arch of the Pyramids:

I liked the Volcano's although I've climbed our local Rainier something about Lava is just cool. I also liked the farthest south point of the US for some reason. The turtles were cool as well. Don't have those here in the NW. I'd also never ziplined pretty fun thing with no engine. Picture of a 1200ft zip that you go almost 60mph across. Mauna Kea also has 9 large conservatories on top you can drive to
