Pizza sauce

Anyone have any good recipes for pizza sauce? The store bought stuff isn't doing it for me anymore.

Also, what's the difference between pasta sauce and pizza sauce? Anything?

Pasta sauce is usually sweeter and chunkier than Pizza sauce. Here is a recipie my wife uses. its meant for canning so you might have to downsize.

1/2 bushel tomatoes
3 lb. onions
4 green peppers

Cook for 2 1/2 hours until soft. Makes 7 quarts juice. Put juice through a sieve.

1 1/2 tsp. red pepper (optional)
2 c. vegetable oil
2 tsp. basil
2 tsp. oregano
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. parsley
6 bay leaves
1/2 c. salt
2 tsp. garlic salt

Boil juice and spice until thick. Add 4 (12 ounce) cans tomato paste, optional (for thicker sauce). Bring to boil. Makes 18 to 20 pints.

Well when we make pizza, we just used tomato sauce, salt, pepper, and italian seasoning. Our family always called "pasta sauce" gravy, and it has green peppers, onions, italian sausage, garlic etc. Here is how we make our gravy:

Big can whole tomatoes Hunts
Small can tomato PASTE Hunts
¼ green pepper, chopped
Equal amount yellow onion
3 ish links Italian sausage
Italian seasoning
Salt
Pepper
Sugar
Garlic or garlic powder

Cook sausage, when almost done add green pepper for 30 sec, add onion, tomatoes and paste. ¾ paste can of water. Bring to boil, add water if necessary. Italian seasoning, salt and pepper, half teaspoon sugar.
