Been there a few times... Not Beachfront per say. It sits up on a cliff with an ocean view. You might be able to take a walk down to a small spot of beach but its pretty rocky and rough below... Pretty cool place though, thinking about getting a room there for my Wedding night.

There's the Beach House in Hermosa, its on the Beach and close to all the Bars on Pier street. They also have a hotel in Half Moon Bay - Half Moon Bay Hotels * Half Moon Bay Hotels Bay Area * Hermosa Beach Hotels * Boutique Luxury Beach House Hotels

And the Malibu Beach Inn... Thought about staying here, just hard to spend the $$ to stay at hotel 10 miles away from my house (even though I've stayed at the Four Season Westlake - 2 miles from my house) -http://www.malibubeachinn.com/index.cfm

Sure, there are many ocean-front hotels in California. The Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa is awesome. The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel is another favorite of mine.

The Montage Resort in Laguna Beach simply cannot be beaten.

Period.

We stayed at the Monterey Plaza not too long ago, it aint the same thing. It was nice, but it was not close to what we had in Thailand.

You don't have your room open straight onto the beach like most beach bungalow places in Asia.
