Beach Front hotels on the west coast

Apparently finding an actual beach front hotel on the West Coast of U.S. is tougher than I thought.

They are a dime a dozen in Asia, but for probably price of real estate, they are just no that many here.

Anyone know of some good beach front hotels on the West Coast?

Stayed at Shutters, and Del Mar, was looking to branch out.

Sorry I left that part out.

Thanks for the info.

I want to second Lazy Turbo's suggestion for the Terranea in Palos Verdes. It is brand-spanking new and it looks pretty spectacular. Luxury California Oceanfront Resorts | Terranea Resort | Eco Resorts in Southern California

I want to again suggest the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego. You mentioned that you had stayed at the Del Mar (in Santa Monica?) next to Shutters. The Del Coronado is an entirely different animal.....

This is the kind of hotels that we stay at in Thailand, I guess they practically do not exist in California.

I would suggest upgrading when in Thailand.

Try the Rayavadee Krabi.

indonesia and thailand have the best villas hands down. i've yet to experience service, infrastructure, and food in US or Mexico that even comes close.

to me, it's the best way to relax and get pampered. i still have yet to visit tahiti and maldive.
