Fig just won the James Beard award last night - and it's probably very good for more traditional food.

IMO, McCrady's (across the street from Fig) is one of the best restaurants *in the country* - the food is more modern but he's given it a southern edge. he also has his own garden and has been growing his own pigs.

my review: ChuckEats blog » McCrady’s (Charleston, SC) - Ingredient Fetish

McGrady's for sure. Based on what Chuck has told me, I would travel to Charleston just to eat there. Modern food with a southern edge - what could be better?
