30k on PS2s?! That is ridiculous...do you only drive straight?

I drive everything like I stole it with a dead body in the trunk. However, I set my suspension up to be fairly easy on rubber and know how to drive so as not to cook the tires. PS2s start to chunk and melt when you get them too hot-- if you drive so they don't, they last many times longer.

Z4 is the worst for tires given the huge rear camber, but I still get 20-oddK to a set.

Quotes for mount/balance and alignments:

dealer: $100 mount/balance; $299 alignment

respected local shop: $80 mount/balance; $369 competition alignment

Does this seem high to anyone?

Most sports cars I see average about 15k on the rears with fronts about every other set. So far I am seeing the SS tires to be wearing very well.
They have not been out for long, but I do expect long term longevity reviews on them to be much better. We beat the daylights out of a set here on our track and they did look much better at the end of the abuse than the PS2's would have. The RE-11 is a great tire, too and has a great following among track guys. But if better ride and treadlife is what you are looking for I would stay with the Super Sport. Especially for the introductory price they are at!

Call me if I can help.

For quality work, no. You really don't want a $50 balance and a $100 alignment on a car you care about.

Could you elaborate on why? What were your overall impressions of the RE-11?
