Better of with a basic Fender I would gather. Whats the budget, let me help you out!

Thanks for the reply DJ. I really don't want to spend anything over $600 because I hate spending money in general.

I'm looking for something that you can slap and pop on (my current bass just won't work with it), and has a gritty, trebley tone. I'll probably check some out this weekend, I'll keep Fender in mind.
