Some great have already been mentioned, but high on my list would be; Bon Scott, Stevie Ray Vaugh (i'm way too proud of texas guy), and possibly Shannon Hoon from Blind Melon. Wooooo, Melon man...

I think Kurt too, it would have been interesting to watch his career progress... or fall apart. But no doubt a major talent taken too soon!

Gosh, more than one. Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison as well as Elvis were important historic losses but they were before my time. I always wondered if music would be any different were they still alive.

The deaths of Michael Hutchence (INXS), Freddie Mercury, Ricky Wilson (B-52s), Curt Cobain and Layne Staley (Alice in Chains) were more in my time and I honestly feel some personal loss in their demise.

More than one person has suggested that I get my son into acting or modeling because he's cute and smart. I reply that celebrity isn't something I'd wish on my worst enemy.

Maybe if we kept entertainers grounded in reality we'd lose fewer of them.

Bon Scott
Under appreciated by people who write AC/DC off without listening to the good stuff ( not the mainstream stuff that gets played on the radio, I mean the proper AC/DC )

Sorry, but Nirvana fvcking sucks. I know for their time, they were all things to depressed teenagers, but come on, it's painful.

Glad someone else said Layne. I love Alice in Chains, wish they were still making music.
