Hey man, you're not alone! While I agree that there is nothing technically brilliant about their work, the lyrics (on the older albums, anyway) hit close to home for me.

I'm picturing this, and all I see is Rob Schneider in the SNL sketch about the copier guy.

"DJ. The DJnator. Getting pwned. DJarooney. In the third person. Abusing his God-like moderator powers. D to the J."

GD is a decent Band imo. Don't care for the last 2 albums but the past albums aren't bad.

I'd rather listen to them than most of the crap coming out now.

I don't mind Green Day, I'll listen if its on the radio, maybe even turn it up a notch... because most of the crap that's been released in the past decade is EMO... they just piss me off (and they have adopted GD as their own). Dookie was good, the only Green Day CD I've ever purchased though...

If I were pinned in a corner, and had to pick one decent punk band from this past decade... DROPKICK MURPHYS FTW!

Before that though? X, Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Social Distortion, Dead Kennedys, Ramones... at the top of my "IMHO" list? The Clash!

now I'm getting all fired up
